Zombie film Miruthan joins the Pongal race
After the Diwali clash between biggies Thoonga Vanam and Vedalam, the next hot release date in Tamil cinema is the Pongal festival. As of now, Bala’s Thaarai Thappattai and Sundar C’s Aranmanai 2 have been confirmed for Pongal. Other films vying for release include Suriya’s 24 and Simbu’s Idhu Namma Aalu. Both these films are under various stages of post-production and it is highly doubtful whether they would make it for Pongal.
The latest to join the Pongal bandwagon is the Jayam Ravi, Lakshmi Menon-starrer Miruthan, a Zombie film directed by Shakti Rajan of Naaigal Jaakirathai fame and produced by Global Infotainment. It has music composed by Imman. The makers have released an official poster confirming release for harvest festival.
