Yuvan Shankar Raja launches his own music label

Yuvan Shankar Raja had earlier announced during a press meet that he is in the process of starting an audio label. Yesterday, he officially announced on his social media page that his label would be called U1 Records. He also launched his official YouTube channel as well in the same name where his upcoming Canada concert’s teaser and trailer would be released too. The video has been shot by Director Ike, erstwhile assistant to Priyadarshan and Kamal Haasan.

The unreleased sound tracks, BGMs, scores from his repertoire will be released on his YouTube channel.  His label will also identify new talents and give them a platform, either through independent music or film music. Shahir Muneer, Director of Divo, the digital entertainment company says, “Yuvan is really interested in identifying new talent all over world and not limiting it to one genre and is open to all types – hip hop, western classical, carnatic, hindustani etc.”
