Will Soorarai Pottru’s success pave way to more OTT releases from Kollywood?
Diwali 2020 was lit up by the success of Soorarai Pottru, Amazon Prime’s direct-OTT release which opened to hugely positive reviews all round. However, the most important thing about Soorarai Pottru’s success and continuously good buzz is the fact that it will engage more audiences from the South and indeed push OTT giants to invest more in regional content for their original programs.
Apart from this, it looks like big platforms like Amazon Prime and Disney+Hotstar are ready with their next set of releases which include some well known Tamil films as well. The announcements for the same are expected by the end of the year.
