We’re removing objectionable scenes only for the safety of moviegoers: Sun Pictures on Sarkar row
Sun Pictures, producer of Thalapathy Vijay’s Sarkar, has agreed to remove the controversial scenes from the film including the cameo appearance of director AR Murugadoss who set ablaze the freebies distributed by the government.
“Since the supporters of the ruling party indulged in violence in front of the theater owners screening the film and obstructed the viewings, we have agreed to remove the objectionable scenes to safeguard the film going audiences,” said Sun Pictures in a statement.
The film has grossed nearly Rs 64 crores (Nov 6 – 8th) from Tamil Nadu so far and has already emerged as the highest-grossing outing of 2018 in the state.
