“We don’t have a Rajamouli in Bollywood,” says Karan Johar

Karan Johar, who is presenting the Hindi version of Baahubali: The Beginning, showered lavish praise on SS Rajamouli at the trailer launch event yesterday. When a journalist asked why Bollywood is not able to produce an epic drama like Baahubali, he replied., “Because, we don’t have a Rajamouli here.”

Sources say Rajamouli is still working on the final stages of post-production which includes extensive VFX portions and is not sure about the release date. Meanwhile, Karan Johar is said to be hell bent on releasing the film on July 10th since Salman’s highly anticipated Bajrangi Bhaijaan is slated to release on July 17th for the Ramzan weekend. Karan Johan even unveiled a poster with the official release date as July 10th.

When asked about the release date at the press meet, Rajamouli said, “How will I know the release date when I don’t even have any clarity about the audio launch yet?”
