Vivegam becomes the first film to gross Rs. 1 crore in Chennai post-GST
Post-GST scenario, Ajith’s Vivegam has become the first film to gross Rs. 1.21 crores in Chennai city in the first day of release. This also marks Ajith’s first-ever entry to the Rs. 1 crore club in Chennai city box-office, whose top two earlier slots were occupied by Rajinikanth’s Kabali at Rs. 1.12 crores and Vijay’s Theri at Rs. 1.05 crores even before GST was implemented.
The movie has opened with mixed reviews everywhere. The advance bookings for the film until the weekend have been extraordinary and we have to see how the film performs from Monday onwards to observe its fate at the box office.
The opening day collections of Vivegam in TN is said to be around 16 crores+, which is an all time 2nd for a Tamil film and the biggest ever for an Ajith film!
