Vishal and Vikram’s suggestion to Sriya Reddy
Sriya Reddy, who was last seen in a powerful role in Priyadarshan’s Kanchivaram, is making a comeback to the silverscreen in Andaava Kanom directed by Vadivel, a former associate of filmmaker Suseenthiran. Apparently. Vadivel had once narrated the script to Sriya’s brother-in-law Vishal and her hubby Vikram Krishna and they absolutely loved the simple yet novel concept of the story. “When I was initially approached for this role, I was a little hesitant as to whether I should do it. But then, both Vishal and Vikram also heard the script and they, along with several others who know about this project, urged me to take it up because they knew this script was a winner” says Sriya.
Sriya Reddy also feels that the film offers her copious scope to perform like her last outing Kanchivaram. It is about what happens in a day and I play the title character — a very powerful rural woman. It has different depths,” says Sriya about the film’s premise. In addition to featuring a bunch of newcomers, Andaava Kanom will also have villagers of Theni play themselves in the film.
