VIP is Dhanush’s biggest opening ever in his career

Dhanush’s Velai Illa Pattadhari is making merry at the box-office and already declared the biggest opening ever in his career. The opening day collection in Tamil Nadu alone stands at Rs 4.36 crore (Net) from 350 odd screens. The film’s U certificate has helped since it received entertainment tax exemption from the state government. It has already entered the list of top five grossers in US box-office. It is also the third highest grosser of 2014 in France.

It has grossed $72K in two days and this is Dhanush’s biggest opening in US box-office so far. In relative terms, the film has collected in two days what Maan Karate did in its entire theatrical stint in US. ATMUS Entertainment, the largest distributor of Tamil movies in the USA, predicts $100K gross for VIP in few days and it will the first film for Dhanush to touch this magical figure in his career.
