Vijay’s heartfelt thanks to fans at Jilla 100 days celebration

Vijay celebrated the success of 100 days of Jilla yesterday in Albert theater with his fans and the cast and crew of the Jilla team. Producer RB Choudary, director Nesan, actors Jiiva, Soori, Mahath, composer Imman and lyricist Vairamuthu were present in the occasion. Awards were distributed to technicians, distributors and theater owners associated with the film.

“When I started shooting for Jilla, I was facing a lot of issues and was depressed. But, I truly believe that hard work never fails. We have worked really hard to make Jilla a big success. This 100th celebration is the outcome of the same. 100 days is an amazing feat and without fans, it’s impossible. Cinema is  a dream industry and fans are its eyes. Without fans, the industry cannot exist,” said Ilayathalapathy. He also drew an analogy to cricket where the fans are more anxious and nervous during the match than the players and told cinema is not an exception either.

He advised young directors to make their films within 2 hours and 30 minutes. He also praised the number of new scrips emerging from the budding directors in Tamil cinema with renewed vigor.
