Vijay Sethupathi’s magnanimous gesture towards Gomathi Marimuthu wins hearts
Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi’s magnanimous gesture towards Asian Athletics Championship gold medalist Gomathi Marimuthu, who hails from a village near Tiruchirapalli, Tamil Nadu, has won hearts.
The athlete who finished on top in 800 metres in Asian Athletics Championship in Doha is a daughter of a farmer and practiced on her own to win the gold medal. Now, she has been receiving financial assistance from various quarters. Vijay Sethupathi is the first one from the film industry to present Rs 5 lakhs to Gomathi Marimuthu. He has also reportedly spoken to Gomathi over the phone and congratulated her for the gold medal.
Vijay Sethupathi is currently busy shooting for filmmaker SP Jananathan’s Laabam and has asked his fan clubs to hand over the cheque to Gomathi Marimuthu.
