Vijay hailed as ‘Maruthuvar Thilagam Maaran’ in Mersal

Banners of Vijay’s character Maaran in Mersal has been doing rounds on the web. Apparently, Vijay plays the role of a doctor named Maaran, who is working for the welfare of the underprivileged in the movie. There’s a scene in the film, which makes him come to India and the banner reads, “Maruthuvar Thilagam Maaran,” welcoming him to the country.

Directed by Atlee and produced by Sri Thenandal Films, Mersal has Kajal Aggarwal, Samantha and Nithya Menen as female leads. AR Rahman composes music for the project, which is slated to hit screens for Diwali 2017.
