Vijay is afraid of singing: SA Chandrasekhar
SA Chandrasekhar, who is making a comeback with Touring Talkies where he dons the hat of a hero as well as the director, says his son Ilayathalapathy Vijay is afraid of singing. “Vijay is afraid of singing because he doesn’t have classical training. When he was young, he suddenly asked for a guitar, went for classes for a while and then asked for a piano, and tried that for a while. After some time he said he wanted to try cinema…and now (laughs),” says SAC when asked about why he didn’t approach Vijay for singing a song in his film.
Though SAC is raring to do more films, Vijay is not happy with his decision at all. “Vijay and my family have been asking me to stop and take rest at home for years now. I had to get their permission to make this film, with great difficulty,” reveals Chandrasekhar who dreams to make films till his last breath. When asked about working with Ilayathalapathy, SAC candidly says, “I am an egoist and I am honest enough to admit that I am not big enough to work with my son today.”
SA Chandrasekhar also says he doesn’t discuss about politics with Vijay. “Vijay and I don’t even talk about politics any more. He has really matured that way,” he adds. SAC has currently wrapped up Touring Talkies, his 69th directorial. He essays the role of a 75-year old septuagenarian in the film.
