“Vignesh Shivan has presented a proper film with festive mood in TSK,” says Suriya

Speaking at the pre-release event of Thaanaa Serndha Koottam, Suriya said, “Great things are happening over the industry. I congratulate Rajinikanth sir, Kamal Haasan sir and Vishal for embarking on their political journey.”

On his first meeting with Vignesh Shivan, Suriya said, “He told me about two scripts he has kept for Sivakarthikeyan and Vijay Sethupathi. So they suggested me a script based on a real-life incident that happened in 1987. This was the inspiration for Hindi film Special 26. I sat down for discussion with the same mindset of Special 26. But I was completely surprised to hear a different narration. Vignesh had just picked up the real-life incident and crafted his own version of the screenplay.

Talking about his working experience in the film, Suriya said, “It was like a reverse gear back to my olden days. Most of my recent films were like saving the neighboring state and country. I would always say my favorite movies were Sathya and Varumaiyin Niram Sigappu. Vignesh Shivn has added that touch to this film. Usually, in most of my movies, I would be seen tensed and infuriated while emoting. But in Thaanaa Serndha Koottam, my role has completely refrained from such attitudes. Everything including the dialogue deliveries and body language was completely new to me. Every day was a new learning experience for me with this film. TSK will not have the ‘No Smoking and No Drinking’ card before the title credits. In fact, a censor board officer personally called us and appreciated that it’s been a long time we saw such a film. Vignesh has presented a proper entertainer with complete festive mood.”
TSK is all set for a worldwide release in Tamil and Telugu on January 12th.
