Vetrimaaran’s Visaraanai enters into history books even before release
Vetrimaaran’s Visaaranai has become the first Tamil film to get featured in the competition category at the 72nd Venice Film Festival. The film, which is also co-produced by Dhanush under his banner Wunderbar Films, will premiere at the prestigious festival under ‘Orizzonti’ category which is an international competition dedicated to films that represent the latest aesthetic and expressive trends in international cinema. The festival is scheduled to happen between September 2nd and 15th.
Visaaranai features Attakathi Dinesh, Anandhi, Ajay Ghosh, Samuthirakani, Murugadoss and Misha Ghosal in important roles. Dhanush and Vetrimaaran together broke the myth that festival films won’t make money with Manikandan’s heart-warming tale Kakka Muttai which is still minting money at the box office in major screens. Now, the expectations have raised for Visaraanai which is based on the novel series ‘Lock Up’, which deals about police interrogation techniques, penned by M Chandrakumar.
“#Visaaranai 2 premier at d 72nd Venice international film festival n Orizzonti competitive category. Proud Wunderbar films,” wrote Dhanush on Twitter.
