Vetrimaaran acquires rights for CS Chellappa’s book Vaadivaasal
Filmmaker Vetrimaaran has reportedly acquired the adaptation rights for author CS Chellappa’s Vaadivaasal, one of the most essential and important books on Jallikattu. Vetrimaaran will soon adapt the book into a feature film after completing his ongoing assignments.
Earlier, Vetrimaaran grabbed the rights for author Kota Neelima’s Shoes of the Dead, which revolves around farmers’ suicides. It must be noted that Vetrimaaran’s universally-acclaimed Visaaranai was based on the book Lock Up written by Chandrakumar. Vetrimaaran is currently busy shooting Dhanush’s Vada Chennai, which will resume shooting in March.
