Vendhar Movies Madhan arrested in Tiruppur

Producer Madhan of Vendhar Movies, who absconded in May after writing a suicide note saying he was going to attain samadhi in Kasi, was arrested by police in Tiruppur yesterday. As soon as Madhan went into hiding in May, more than 120 complaints were filed against him for extorting money from various students promising medical college seats in SRM College. Reports suggest that Madhan had collected Rs. 83 crores from students.

SRM Group Chairman Pachamuthu was arrested following Madhan’s abscondment since he was mentioned as the co-accused in all complaints. Pachamuthu was eventually granted conditional bail in September, following which a special team was formed to nab Madhan, who is expected to be produced before the court soon.
