Veeram and VIP are the only two successful films of 2014, says Keyar

Kothandaramaiah Reddy aka Keyar, the President of Tamil Film Producers’ Council has revealed that Ajith’s Veeram and Dhanush’s Velai Illa Pattathari are the only two successful films in 2014 trade-wise. “Even Sathuranga Vettai won extraordinary recognition as a good film, it collected only average money at the box-office,” told Keyar at the audio launch function of Studio 9 Productions’ upocoming film Mahabalipuram. 

Keyar also told that nowadays more the directing a film, releasing it is more challenging. “People should be pro-active in planning their release dates. When films of Rajinikanth and other stars are releasing, it’s better for small budget films to refrain from competition. Otherwise, it’s equivalent to suicide,” said Keyar.
