When reports suggested that Kaaviya Thalaivan was inspired by the lives of KB Sundarambal and Kittappa, the sources from Vasantha Balan’s camp kept denying it. Now, the director has agreed that though the film has not been inspired from their lives, he has sketched the role played by Vedhika taking inspiration from KB Sundarambal. Also, Nasser’s character is also inspired from a real-life personality.
“Nasser’s character is modeled on Thavathiru Sankaradas Swamigal, considered the father of Tamil theatre, Vedhika plays Ganakokilam Vadivambal, which has been inspired by KB Sundarambal. I admire both these legends and therefore have fashioned their characters on them,” reveals Vasantha Balan to a daily.
The much-awaited musical feast from AR Rahman will be served on August 18th.
