Veteran filmmaker Vasanth S. Sai’s latest feature, “Sivaranjani and Two Other Women” will have its North American premiere next month at the Tiburon International Film Festival in California. The film, which recently won the Best Film Award within the Asian Cinema Competition at the 2019 Bangalore International Film Festival has been reaping in acclaim and prizes in festival travels since October.
Based on the stories of prolific Tamil writers, the film is a heart-warming study of women in modern-day India with arresting performances from Parvathy Thiruvothu, Lakshmi Priya Chandramouli, and Kalieswari Srinivasan. After debuting at the 2018 Mumbai International Film Festival, the film went on to screen in Kerala, Pune, and Goteberg (Sweden) – where it was consistently received with praise from critics and audiences alike.
“Sivaranjani and Two Other Women” will be screening at Tiburon on Sunday, April 14.
