Varu’s relentless commitment for Bala’s Thaarai Thappattai

Varalaxmi Sarathkumar who made her debut opposite Simbu in Vignesh Shivan directorial Podaa Podi did not receive any good projects later on. Her Madha Gaja Raja with Vishal, one of her best friends in the industry, directed by Sundar C has been staying in the shelves for an indefinite period without an official release date. And then, she was signed to play the lead role in Bala’s Thaarai Thappattai.

The actress has been working relentless for the film, where she plays a karakaattam dancer and is also toning her body down to do justice to the role. “I have already lost six kilos and am working out currently to lose four more,” says Varu. She has been doing endless number of rehearsals for the past one month. And, she is likely to join the team next month. “It’s a dream come true. I actually have no clue about my role. When someone like Bala sir calls you, you just go. I’m looking forward to shooting with him,” adds Varalaxmi.
