Vairamuthu to pen 12 songs for Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan
Lyricist Vairamuthu has been roped in as the lyricist for Mani Ratnam’s magnum-opus Ponniyin Selvan, which is currently in the pre-production stage. Netizens have raised concerns about Ratnam’s decision to sign up the veteran lyricist since he was one of the celebrities who got involved in the #MeToo controversy.
Chiyaan Vikram, Nayanthara, Anushka Shetty, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Keerthy Suresh, and Aishwarya Rai play significant roles in the film, which will have music composed by AR Rahman. Ponniyin Selvan is expected to kickstart towards the end of the year.
