Dikkiloona is a film that everybody crackling up because of the comedy that worked out majorly in the film. Up next, the combination of Santhanam and director Karthik Yogi together get back for Vadakpatti Ramaswamy, a comedy set in a village.
The film is based on a man who fools people into believing superstitions and keeps his incoming flowing through that, at a nearby temple. However, when the temple is temporarily closed, problems arise all round him leading to fun around the village. The film is less about its lead characters and more about its supporting artists, who come in different shapes and sizes and keep the comedy flowing throughout the film. Karthik has interestingly designed his massive support cast giving them fun liners, unique behavior as they steal the epic moments of the film. The first half is decent and the second half is the funnier of the two, as the comedy works out superbly in many parts.
Santhanam does not have much scope in the film and it is left to his reactions that he has to the people around him. The film peaks when Motta Rajendran and Nizhalgal Ravi are in full form, and there is hardly a dull moment when they are on the screen.
Musically and technically, the film is neat and there is not much to complain about any of those departments.
On the whole, Vadakpatti Ramaswamy is a cheerful and jolly entertainer you can see if you are looking for a fun and stress buster watch.
