  • Vaaimaiyea Vellum – Vijay Prakash pulls off this reverberating tune at comfortable ease. The chorus portions are equally good and rightly supplement Vijay’s commanding vocals. Metaphor-rich lyrics of Vairamuthu, an added bonus
  • Kanpadum Unmugam – This pathos track with its simplistic use of instruments and an earthy tune provokes all of your senses beautifully, but only to be let down later by Alka Yagnik’s poor diction. She’s probably one of the Himalayan talents from the North who never got going in Kollywood unlike her successful contemporaries, Saadhana Sargam and Shreya Goshal
  • Matta – Blaaze’s vocals, though appear in the background, looks blaring at times and spoils Vijay Prakash’s catchy rendition before he manages to stand out towards the fag end of the track. Tune-wise, it’s quite inventive and a good attempt. Brownie points for Auggath, on that note!
  • Boomiye Saamiye – Another pathos where Sadhana Sargam effortlessly ticks the primary box which Alka Yagnik missed out in Kanpadum Unmugam. Sadhana’s fantastic rendition makes you weep, literally!
  • Ae Nadu – Yet another song where Vairamuthu’s philosophical lyrics competes hand in hand with the rendition. With its pitch-perfect vocals and pleasing improvisations, this one is a quintessential SPB track. Also, our PICK of the album!
