TN government shuts down malls, theaters in 16 districts until March 31st
The Tamil Nadu government issued an official order confirming the shut down of malls, theaters and mass public gatherings in 16 districts of the state until March 31st due to the key developments in the global Coronavirus outbreak, which has taken several lives across the globe.
16 districts including Coimbatore, Kanyakumari, Theni, Tiruppur, Nilgiris, Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri, Tirunelveli, Hosur, Tenkasi, Tiruvallur, Vellore, Tirupattur, Ranipet, Erode, Dindigul and Virudhu Nagar which share borders with neighboring states such as Kerala, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh will be closed till March 31.
Meanwhile, the state government is monitoring the situation in other districts as well and a full state emergency is also being considered according to sources close to senior officials.
