The much awaited movie of Ilaya Thalapathy Vijay after the Blockbuster venture Shankar’s Nanban is “Thuppakki”. none other than the biggie, Kalaipuli S Dhanu.
After hearing much many like Deepika, Sonam Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, Priya Anand, Kingfisher Girl – Angela Johnson and finally its announced Vijay ‘s lady love in this flick will be Magadheera girl Kajal Agarwal. Vijay-Kajal too pairing up for the first time and its undoubtedly slated this pair gonna rock in screens with their expressions and dance movements. With the mega partnership in Nanban, Sathyan roped in again to team up with Vijay for comedy and Harris Jeyaraj performs the Music. Fans wait for the past 8 years is over! Yes, Harris made our Ilaya Thalapathy to sing a Party Track in it and he tweeted – Vijay brought many colours for the song.
Akshara Gowda was cast to play the second female lead. Gautham Kurup was chosen to play a significant role, while Vidyut Jamwal would be playing a role with negative shades. Malayalam actor Jayaram also confirmed his presence in this project. AR Murugadoss denied reports which claimed that Jai was acting in the film, while confirming that he himself would appear in a cameo role as requested by Vijay.
Ilaya Thalapathy Vijay would appear completely in a different style for this flick. Sources say he plays an encounter specialist in this film and he is hitting gym regularly to make himself fit. Thuppakki was supposed to roll at Thiruchendur from November 2011. But later it began in December and continuously shot in Mumbai. FEFSI – TFPC fight plays a vital role for this delay of shooting. The climax featuring a stunt sequence involving Vijay and 60 fighters was shot using nearly 7 cameras which was filmed by the Ace Cinematographer Santhosh Sivan. Vijay also filmed one scene with cinematographer assistance, who commented that it was shot perfectly and decided to retain it in the film. Sivan further told that a major part of the film was being shot in real locations with hidden cameras.
A song sequence has been shot in Bangkok for 10 days and it seems the chemistry between Vijay & Kajal was terrific, said by the sources. 60% of the filming had been completed and next schedule is supposed to begin from mid of April which was confirmed by the director. Thuppakki is expected to release on the Independence Day and the distribution rights was grabbed by Gemini Film Circuit who already produced and distributed Vijay’s last flick Nanban. Unconfirmed sources say, the satellite rights of this film is bagged by marketing giants Sun TV. First look of this flick is supposed to release today(Apr 13th), but it has been shifted to a week due to the ongoing strike of FEFSI.
