Thoongavanam Movie Preview
As the multitalented taskmaster Kamal Haasan turns 61 today, his fans are absolutely joyous waiting for the release of his upcoming cop actioner Thoongaa Vanam which is gearing up for release on November 10th for the festival of lights.
Here are the six reasons why you should watch the film.
- After an average grosser in BO/critically acclaimed Uttama Villain and a super hit with the family drama Papanasam, Kamal Haasan looks eager to reinvigorate his box office prowess with Thoongaa Vanam, which has an ensemble cast to die for that has Trisha, Sampath, Kishore, Prakash Raj, Yugi Sethu, Asha Sharath and Uma Riaz apart from others.
- Thoongaa Vanam promises a lot of action. Emotions interspersed with dark humor is said to be another watch-out factor in the film. With a running time close to just two hours, the film’s first look promos and TV spot videos have piqued enough curiosity to experience the action on the big screen.
- Trisha dons the role of a daring cop for the first time. The trailer showed us few glimpses where Kamal and Trisha exchanged blows that made for a riveting viewing. There is a high-octane action sequence between the two inside a kitchen. And, Trisha has dubbed in her own voice. It’s also her 50th film in the industry.
- Billed as an official remake of acclaimed French film Sleepless Night, Thoonga Vanam looks like a faithful remake material if the trailer and posters are anything to go by. If you loved the original version, there is no reason why should not watch Thoonga Vanam considering the fact that screenplay credits belongs to Kamal.
- Thoongaa Vanam is nade as an authentic bi-lingual in Tamil and Telugu. It was completed in a span of 60 days in important locations in Chennai and Hyderabad. The film is directed by debutant Rajesh M Selva, who has been a long-time collaborator of Raaj Kamal Films International.
- Three experienced French stunt trainers – Virginie Arnaud of Fast and Furious 6 fame, Gilles Conseil and Sylvian Gabet of Transporter fame have worked on the film’s fight sequences assuring a lot of quality action on screen.
