“There will be a Part 3 to 2.0,” reveals Shankar

Speaking at the spectacular first look launch of 2.o in Mumbai, director Shankar revealed that there will be a part 3 to the series. The team revealed three first look posters of the film including the solo posters of Rajinikanth, Akshay Kumar and a face-off poster featuring the duo.

Salman Khan, who arrived as the surprise guest for the event, grabbed the attention of media and fans. “I came uninvited. I have a lot of respect for Rajinikanth. I heard the event is happening in Mumbai and I thought I would come,” said Salman Khan.

Rajinikanth said, “If Salman Khan says yes, I will act in a film with him even tomorrow.”

Rajinikanth also said Akshay Kumar is the real hero of the film. “If I were given a chance, I would have done the villain role. I’m telling you the truth. In 2.o, the hero is not Rajinikanth. It is Akshay Kumar,” he said.

“Everyone wants to learn from Rajinikanth sir about how he wears glasses, coats and holds his cigarette,” said Akshay Kumar who also called director Shankar as a scientist. 

“Audiences need more films like Baahubali and 2.o. I’m waiting to watch Baahubali 2,” said Shankar.

There was also a fun Koffee With Karan conversation between host Karan Johar and Chitti Robot, which brought the roof down with its wit.

The makers have confirmed that the film will hit screens for Diwali 2017 worldwide. Sound Engineer Resul Pookutty has said he is the process of finalizing a new sound format to release the movie.
