Speaking at the press meet of Kaithi, Karthi said, “When I was an AD, I thought of some storylines and felt that I should work on it someday. After Madras and Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru, Kaithi is one such film. I loved the character that I got with this one, I connected with it deeply.”
“People who come out from jail look at everything so differently as they’ve been shut inside doors for a long time. Director Lokesh worked on his research very seriously and there are a lot of new ideas and tropes in the film. For a long time, I wanted to drive a lorry. Finally, it got done here. We hate lorry drivers for their rash driving, but that’s how it is. To brake, you gotta plan well in advance. It was a crazy experience, doing stunts with such a vehicle. As the shoot completely took place at the night, I could not spend much time with my family. That is my only grouse with this film, otherwise it’s a quality product on the whole,” he added.
Produced by SR Prabhu’s Dream Warrior Pictures, Kaithi is slated for Diwali release this month alongside Bigil, and Sanga Thamizhan.
