After two rounds of talks in Hyderabad and Chennai didn’t produce any conclusive decisions, the third and final level of discussion between important members of all four south film industries and digital service providers is scheduled on February 23 in Bengaluru.
As of now, the massive theater shutdown plan from March 1st will happen if there’s no amicable solution on February 23rd.
“The Joint Action Committee of the Southern Indian Film Industry and Digital Service Providers have met on 16-02-2017 at 11.00 a.m. in the South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce, Chennai to sort out the various issues pertaining to the Film Industry. It was decided to meet again on 23-02-2018 (Friday) to arrive at a Final Conclusion. There is no change in the decision of stopping of Screening of the films in all Theatres of South India from 1st March 2018 and stands as it is, until further notice,” read a statement from SIFCC.
