The legend ‘Manivannan’ is no more
Manivannan, known for his various avatar in Industry died in cardiac arrest earlier today morning (June 15, 2013). The Director/Writer/Actor/Producer has directed 50 films and featured in 400+ films. Started his earlier life as an assistant director to Bharathi Raja and made his debut as an director in Gopurangal Saivadhillai at 1982. His maiden directional venture was declared as a Block Buster and he gave us many chart busters consecutively. Among his directions, very notable ones are Gopurangal Saivadhillai, 24 Mani Neram, Nooravathu Naal, Jalikattu, China Thambi Periya Thambi, Therku Theru Machan, Amaithpadai etc. His last directional one was Naga Raja Cholan MA MLA (Amaidhipadai 2) and it released last month.
As an actor he teamed up with all top guns in Kollywood such as Rajini Kanth, Kamal Haasan, Vijay, Ajith, Suriya, Vikram, Sarath Kumar, Vijaya Kanth, Dhanush, Simbu etc.. Among all other actors, his particular team up with an actor made Kollywood to go crazy. Its none other than Manivanna’s best buddy Sathyaraj sir. Manivannan – Sathyaraj sir pair teamed up in more than 25+ films and among all, the very much noticed was Amaidhipadai which hit back in the year 1994. Amaithipadai turned out as a milestone in both the stars career and made them a best partners. Coincidentally the legends last film was with his best buddy and made a full stop to his successful career.
In his last speech (At Amaidhipadai 2 Audio Launch), he stated that if he is dead handover his body to Seeman and the funeral should be done under his governance and Naam Tamilar Members. As he wished, the last respect is being made at his residence in Chennai.
