The GOAT becomes 2024’s highest opener with worldwide gross of over 100 crores!
Thalapathy Vijay’s The Greatest of All Time has taken a mega sized opening at the box office on day one, getting over 126 crores gross (worldwide) on the very first day. The film has smacked up huge numbers in TN and overseas locations, making it a force to reckon with at the box office in the next few days.
In Tamil Nadu, the film ranks fourth amidst the highest day 1 grossers of all time, with all the top 4 belonging to Vijay himself. GOAT’s numbers rank at 31 crores on day one, which is just behind Beast, Leo and Sarkar. The film hasn’t taken off so well in the neighboring states though, as the numbers are just about okay by minting 3.8Cr in Telugu States, 10.3Cr in Karnataka, 5.8Cr in Kerala and 3.4Cr in North India (without multiplexes).
In the USA, the film has already hit the $1 Million Mark with solid numbers to its name. Even without the North America numbers, the film has managed to pick up well and will do close to $1.5 million. In the UK, the film is set behind Leo as the second highest opener of all time, noting 380K euros with few areas yet to report.
In Australia, the film has taken the 4th spot of all time grossers with $309K to its name. It is only behind Leo and the PS films there. In New Zealand, GOAT sits at the third spot (NZ$ 52.6K) with respect to its opening, just behind Leo and Master. In Singapore, GOAT records as all time #3 opener for a Tamil film by collecting SG$500K claiming as Thalapathy Vijay’s fort yet again. In UAE-GCC territories, GOAT have grabbed $1.32M and registered into Top 5 openers for a Tamil film.
The entire overseas gross of The GOAT for Day 1 is said to be $5.5M.
It is indeed a solid opening weekend for the Thalapathy Vijay starrer, with huge numbers being registered worldwide and it will continue to do so for this entire weekend and the upcoming weeks.
