The challenge in Maddy’s Irudhi Suttru
Sivakumar Vijayan, cinematogrpaher of Madhavan’s Irudhi Suttru, says his efforts to capture Chennai as well as his master PC Sreeram did in Mani Ratnam’s Alaipayuthey was the most important challenge. Siva assisted PC Sreeram in the Hindi film Paa and the Telugu film Ishq before making his debut in Vidiyum Munn. “The first few days on the sets of Irudhi Suttru were all about being awed by Madhavan and asking for anecdotes about the Alaipayuthey shoot,” says Siva.
Produced by CV Kumar in association with Sashikanth of YNOT Studios and directed by Sudha Kongara Prasad of Dhrogi fame, Irudhi Suttru features real-life boxers Ritika Singh and Mumtaz Sorcar as female leads. Madhavan essays the role of a boxing coach. It has music by Santhosh Narayanan.
