Dhool ‘Sorna Akka’ passes away

Popular Tollywood actress ‘Telangana Shakunthala’ died of cardiac arrest early morning today in her residence in Hyderabad. Her role as Sorna Akka in director Dharani’s Dhool is one of the memorable performances. She suffered a stroke and was rushed to a nearby hospital but to no avail. She is 63 and is survived by a son and a daughter.

Actor Siddharth posted on his official Twitter page, “RIP Telangana Shakuntala garu. Vibrant, warm, and such a talented artiste. Gone too soon. Strength to the family.” She has acted in more than 70 films. Though her base is pre-dominantly in Tollywood, she has acted in few Tamil films too. Only Kollywood extends our deepest condolences to her family. May her soul rest in eternal peace!
