T Rajendar lashes out at AR Murugadoss
In a press meet organized by Film Distributors Association President T Rajendar and Secretary Mannan yesterday, the former lashed out at filmmaker AR Murugadoss over Darbar loss row.
“Since Darbar was not a minimum guarantee release, distributors cannot ask for compensations legally. What they are fighting for is moral justice. Isn’t it unfair to turn your back on the distributors who bought your film for an exceptionally high price? When our members reached out to Lyca, they said the film is a loss for them too and they aren’t in a position to pay compensations,” said TR according to a report in Cinema Express.
“If Murugadoss chooses to file such baseless complaints on our members, we are ready to face him in court. It is his poor planning and the needlessly high salary of the actors and technicians that made Darbar a flop. The odd pre-festival release date just added fuel to the flame,” the report added.
