Veyyon Silli, the first single track composed by GV Prakash for Suriya’s Soorarai Pottru, was successfully launched mid-air in the SpiceJet aircraft with the press and 70 underprivileged kids, who flew for the first time.
“The owner of Deccan airlines Captain G.R Gopinath has changed the industry and made common people also to fly with cheaper flight rates. He made common people fly in 1 rupee. Whatever inventions have been made in our society should be feasible, affordable to the public. Likewise, he made flight experience affordable to common people also. This movie is a tribute to him. Director Sudha Kongara has put 10 years effort to make this movie. Only the director like Sudha can make this story as a movie. This is the best time in my career I can say. The entire appreciation should go to Director Sudha. She is my sister. Because of her efforts, the entire movie has happened. Today, in this event, we have launched India’s first electric bus in the airport. This movie is a tribute to all heroes who serve our nation” said actor Suriya.
“Suriya promised me tremendous creative freedom when I worked on this film and he gave me enough creative freedom which took me higher than this Boeing 737,” said director Sudha Kongara.
Bankrolled by Suriya’s 2D Entertainment and Sikhya, Soorarai Pottru is slated to hit screens in April. The film, which is based on the life of Air Deccan Founder GR Gopinath, also stars Aparna Balamurali in an important role.
