Sudeep plays Sridevi’s commander in Vijay 58

There have been rumors going on for a while that Sudeep and Vijay play siblings in Vijay’s next film with Chimbudevan. Sudeep, in his recent interview to a daily, has trashed the rumors and confirmed that he doesn’t play Vijay’s brother in the film. “My role is that of the antagonist. It is not about playing an evil character. There are good and bad and lots of things. If it was just a negative character, I would not have been approached. It is a fantasy film and Sridvei plays the queen of a kingdom. I play the role who is the commander of this kingdom,” says Sudeep. Sridevi plays the role of a princess and Hansika plays her daughter.

While Sudeep generously agrees that Vijay is the biggest star of this generation and that his character in the film is nicely detailed, he also confirms doesn’t play a parallel hero in the story. Starring Vijay, Hansika and Shruti Haasan in lead roles, Vijay 58 is said to be a commercial entertainer with a good blend of fantasy elements.
