SS Rajamouli on teaming up with Rajinikanth and AR Rahman
Hotshot director SS Rajamouli delivered the Extra Mural Lecture at IIT Madras two days back and took a truckload of questions from the students community and answered it promptly in an hour-long conversation.
When wishful students asked him whether he would team up with Rajinikanth and AR Rahman in future, this is what he had to say.
“You ask this question to any director in the South Indian film industry and their answer will be the same. I don’t know what kind of role I would offer Rajinikanth, but if I make a film with him, I will make sure that no one from the audience gets to hear the dialogues on screen for at least ten days. They should hear only the ultimate fan frenzy inside theaters,” said Rajamouli on working with Rajinikanth.
While it is a well known fact that Rajamouli shares an extraordinary rapport with his long-standing collaborator, veteran composer MM Keeravani, who also happens to be his cousin, one of the students posed a question on Rajamouli joining forces with AR Rahman.
“I don’t know. We might make some of the best works to come out of India or we might end up fighting. Every creator has a certain working style and timing pattern. From whatever I have heard, Rahman Sir starts working after it gets dark. My brain starts sleeping the moment it gets dark. I get up usually at 4-4.30 in the morning and I work till 7 or 8 o’clock in the night. This is my most creative work time. And that is the time Rahman Sir sleeps actually (laughs). So, I don’t know how it will be working with him,” said Rajamouli on joining hands with AR Rahman.
