Sridevi mam’s role in Moondram Pirai gave me a lot of inspiration: Janani Iyer

Actress Janani Iyer who plays an important role in ‘Balloon‘ has said that veteran actress Sridevi’s role in Moondram Pirai gave her a lot of inspiration to perform her character. The movie which also stars Jai and Anjali and is directed by debutant Sinish is gearing up to hit screens on September 27th.

Speaking about her role, Janani Iyer said, “My portion in the movie is set in the 1980’s and was shot entirely in Kodaikanal. I play a girl who is orthodox and falls in love with Jai’s character. I and the director wanted to incorporate something special into my character. After a lot of discussions, the reference that was given to me was that if Sridevi madam played in “Moondram Pirai”. We mutually agreed that it would be literally impossible to re create the performance of Legendary Sri Devi madam. But that reference helped me to get the best out of me. Such is the inspiration. It’s a great role and I loved it.  I am sure the audience will love this movie and my role and performance will be appreciated.”
