Soundarya R. Ashwin is overwhelmed; thanks AR Rahman

We reported here yesterday that AR Rahman’s score for Kochadaiiyaan has been selected in the 114 original scores that are in contention for nominations to the 87th Academy Awards. The final nominations list for the Oscar 2014 will be announced on January 15th. Soundarya Rajinikanth, director of Kochadaiiyaan, thanks Rahman and calls him her pillar of strength. “It’s an overwhelming feeling. Kochadaiiyaan was a very tough project and by god’s grace, we pulled it off in the given time and budget. I want to thank my pillar of strength, Rahman sir for all the trust and support and I congratulate him and the whole team for this milestone,” says Soundarya.

Meanwhile, AR Rahman says, “For me, I don’t see the technology, I see only the product. But while working for Kochadaiiyaan, it was musically challenging. There were so many emotions that the music has to convey. It is synthetic and played through computer. Even though the main motions were there, the music had to give all the flesh and blood, which the script required.”
