SJ Suryah’s music training for Isai

SJ Suryah’s long-gestating Isai is finally hitting cinemas on January 30th along with a host of other lesser known films. The film, which has been in the making for nearly three years, is rumored to be based on music legends Ilaiyaraja and AR Rahman, though Suryah refuted the claims.

SJ Suryah earlier revealed in an interview it was AR Rahman who pushed him to take up music composing seriously. Isai marks the composing debut of SJ Suryah. He has disclosed now that he underwent music training before scoring music for the film. Isai stars Mumbai-based model Savithri, a screen name given my Suryah because of her resemblance to the yesteryear actress Savithri. Sathyaraj also plays a pivotal role in the film. Isai is releasing in nearly 300 screens across the state.
