Singam2 to roar in USA from July 4th
Speculations were rife to when the film will bereleased. Finally, the film’s release date is slated to July 5th.
Directed by Hari, “Singam 2” will have Suriya appearing as an authentic Indian cop who is on a mission overseas. The sequel is generating a lot of hype as “Singam” was a major hit in all south languages. While a dubbed version was released in Telugu and Malayalam, the film was remade in Hindi and Kannada. Ajay Devgn reprised Suriya’s role in the Hindi verison and Sudheep of “Eega” fame donned the cop character in the Kannada version. With the release of “Singam 2”, there is a strong buzz that the film might be remade in other languages.
Two teasers of the film that were released by the makers have given a glimpse of what to expect from “Singam 2.” The videos uploaded on YouTube remind us that that the film would be a racy-action thriller. Also revealed the heroine Anushka expressions are awesome in recent 20sec promo. (Watch: http://youtu.be/NvFbix-ifJ0) A full length theatrical trailer is expected early next week.
Hollywood actor Danny Sapani dons the villain’s role. The film also features Anushka, Hansika Motwani, Santhanam, Vivek, Nassar and Vijayakumar in supportive roles.
ATMUS Entertainment, leading distributor of Tamil movies in the USA has acquired the theatrical rights Suriya’s Singam-2 for releasing in USA. Also, ATMUS holds the USA rights for upcoming superstar Rajinikanth film ‘Kochadaiyaan’ as well.
As the pre-release buzz is very high and a big Tamil film is getting released after a long time in the USA, the exhibitors are closing centers faster than anytime. States of FL, IA, IL, MN, MO, NB, NC, PA, WA, WI are completed sold out. A few other cities are also sold out.
