Simbu replaces Dhanush in Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi’s next?

We earlier reported here that Dhanush would be a part of Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi’s next film. Kiruthiga even said that the film will be an emotional drama unlike her debut film Vanakkam Chennai, a breezy rom-com. However, Kiruthiga was tight-lipped on whether Dhanush will play the lead role or not, but she confirmed that she narrated the story to him and he agreed to produce it under Wunderbar Films. Now, reliable reports say Dhanush has backed out of the project since his diary is jampacked.

He is currently on the verge of completing Shamitabh and will move on to Vetrimaaran’s Soodhadi after completing it. His homebanner Wunderbar Films is producing Naanum Rowdey Thaan featuring Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara in lead roles. Wunderbar Films is also the co-producer of Soodhadi. Few days back, Dhanush announced that Wunderbar Films will also bankroll Selvaraghavan’s next project bringing Selva’s favorite associates Yuvan Shankar Raja and Aravind Krishna together after a long-hiatus. Since Dhanush is flooded with commitments, he could not accommodate dates to Kiruthiga’s film and now Simbu has been chosen to play the lead role, says a bankable source.

Now, the two pertinent questions:

1. Will Dhanush star in Selvaraghavan’s next film or just produce the film and make way for others?

2. Has Dhanush entirely backed out of Kiruthiga’s project or he will play the producer role and Simbu, the lead role?
