Siddarth opens up about his future projects
From the chocolate boy role in Boys to the commercial entertainer Theeya Vela Seiyyanum Kumaru, Siddharth has come a long way. With his stellar performance in Rakesh Omprakash Mehra’s Rang de Basanti, he stamped his position as a pan-India actor and garnered a lot of acclaim for his role. His current films which are due for release include Jigarthanda directed by Karthik Subburaj, Kaaviya Thalaivan directed by Vasantha Balan and Lucia directed by Prasad Kumar.
All three films transcend various genres and the actor is thrilled to bits to be a part of each project. “I have always thought as an actor and not limited myself. I never doubted my ability to do author-backed roles,” says Siddharth when asked about how he had accepted for the image makeover in Vasantha Balan’s Kaaviya Thalaivan.
Siddharth also says Jigarthanda will be an important film in his career. He has a firm belief that Karthik Subburaj will become a name to reckon with in future. Jigarthanda, a gangster-musical thriller is slated for a release in May. “The film is very close to my heart. It’s good, honest cinema, rooted in theater,” says Siddarth on his historical drama Kaaviya Thalaivan.
