Shruti Haasan croons alongside AR Rahman in MTV Unplugged Season 6!

In the recently aired episode of MTV Unplugged Season 6, the multi-talented Shruti Haasan lent her voice for the recreated version of AR Rahman’s Raanjha Raanjha’ from Mani Ratnam’s Raavan.

“Super honoured and overwhelmed to have had the opportunity to sing with the incredible @arrahman on Mtv unplugged,” tweeted Haasan who crooned alongside AR Rahman for the show. 

Shruti Haasan also called Rahman as one of her biggest musical influences in her official statement. “As a singer and musician, I enjoy challenging myself to push the boundaries and keep trying to do something new. The song ‘Raanjha Raanjha’ is an unconventional choice for me I would think, especially in a setup like Unplugged. But when it came from Rahman Sir, who I’ve looked up to, I knew I had to just flow with it. Singing live and keeping up with an entire orchestra was incredibly exciting and extremely gratifying. I cherished singing with Rahman as he is one of my biggest musical influences,” she said.
