Pete Draper of Makuta VFX who worked in Rajamouli’s Baahubali has opened up about the massive visual effects effort behind the recreation of late Kannada superstar Vishnuvardhan on screen. “There were hundreds of artists collectively working on the sequence. We used a lot of live references, from the dupe artistes to footage from his last few features, which everyone remembers vividly,” he says.
“Many methods were used, depending on the shot’s requirements; we analysed each shot to determine the best way to apply his performance,” adds Pete. Directed by Kodi Ramakrishna of Arundhati fame, Shiva Naagam features Divya Spandana and Diganth in the lead roles. The teaser of the film has already crossed one million views.
Meanwhile, KE Gnanvel Raja’s Studio Green snapped the entire AP & Telangana rights of Shiva Naagam’s Telugu version Naga Bharanam.
