Sarkar needs to gross around Rs 150 crores in TN to break-even
Thalapathy Vijay’s Sarkar, whose Tamil Nadu theatrical rights have been valued at Rs 81 crores, needs to pull in a revenue of around Rs 150 crores to break-even in the state. It’s definitely going to be a humongous task and a real acid test for Vijay’s box-office stature, which is consistently increasing.
Mersal became the fastest film to cross the Rs 100 crores mark in Tamil Nadu and its final gross is pegged at Rs 125+ crores in the state. It must be noted that the individual territory price of Sarkar is almost equal to the lifetime share of Baahubali 2, which is currently the highest-grossing film in Tamil Nadu.
