Saranya Ponvannan embarks on a new journey!

Saranya Ponvannan, known for her doting, naive mother roles in films, embarks on a new journey off screen. She is starting a new fashion school named ‘Designing School of Fashion Technology’ in the city. Saranya’s interest for fashion came through her mother, who was adept at tailoring. “After her death, I decided to take up her machine and do something with it. I have been using it for the past 20 years,” says Saranya Ponvannan.

Apparently, when Saranya used to stitch clothes for her children and neighbours, everyone was impressed by her work and suggested her to innovate more. That’s when she pondered starting a proper fashion school to teach the art to others. Saranya was last seen on screen as Dhanush’s mother in Velai Illa Pattadhari.
