“Santhanam is the apt choice,” says SS Rajamouli

SS Rajamouli was recently in the city to grace the audio launch function of Santhanam’s Vallvanukku Pullum Aayutham. VPA is the Tamil remake of smash hit Telugu film Maryada Ramanna directed by SS Rajamouli. Santhanam played a cameo role in Rajamouli’s Naan Ee after recommended by Crazy Mohan. “When I was searching for an actor for that role, Crazy Mohan suggested Santhanam’s name,” said Rajamouli at the function.

“When he finally arrived to meet me, I was taken by surprise. I never expected him to look like  a hero. But, he is hero material. And then, he agreed to do my film and worked for two days to complete his portions in the film. I observed the kind of dedication and his focus on improvising his scenes on and off the sets,” he added. “So when I heard about Maryada Ramanna’s remake and that Santhanam would play the lead role, I felt he was the apt choice”, said the blockbuster director.
