Confirmed: It’s Santhanam for Lingaa

After a lot of speculations over the past few days over comedian Santhanam’s presence in Rajinikanth’s Lingaa, the actor has finally made it official. The actor who recently plunged into slapstick comedy and made his debut as a lead hero in Vallavanukku Pullum Aayudham tweeted last night, “Feeling proud to be in LINGA.” The film marks Santhanam’s third collaboration with Superstar. Though not a full-fledged role, he earlier acted in Rajinikanth’s Kuseelan and Endhiran.

KS Ravikumar films are long-familiar for neatly written situational comedies without spoiling the story-line much. It would be interesting to see how the ace filmmaker uses Santhanam in Lingaa. It was earlier reported that the plot takes place in two different time periods. “Santhanam will be part of the post-independence period of the film,” says a reliable source. Rumor mills were rife that Vadivelu was approached to be part of the pre-independence period of the plot. But, no official news on the same yet.
