Samuthirakani confirms directing Saattai 2

Samuthirakani, who has currently put his project Kitna on hold to make way for Dhansika to complete Rajinikanth’s Kabali, has confirmed that he is currently working on Saattai 2. It will not be a sequel to Saattai directed by Anbazhagan where Kani played a crucial role.

This film will revolve around the relationship between a father and a son. Samuthirakani has titled the film as Appa and the tagline will be Saattai 2. “The inspiration came to me when my wife and I had to decide on which school our son would study in. My wife wanted to put him in one particular school, whereas I did not want him there. The discussions we had over the choice of school and the compromises we had to make led to the spark that triggered this script,” says Samuthirakani who is busy with a bevy of projects where he plays crucial supporting roles.
